Heading south

On 24 August we left Loyalty Beach and headed to Bramwell Station to camp the night.  On the way we visited Fruit Bat Falls and had a swim - it was refreshing.  At Bramwell we enjoyed another lovely dinner and entertainment.

Good bye Loyalty Beach!

Back on the ferry to cross the Jardine River

On the Peninsula Development Road heading to Bramwell,  these are corrugations Charleen.  The OTT was worse,  they were much deeper and the road was steep in sections.

Ate lunch and swam at Fruit Bat Falls.

The plants were interesting,  saw a small green snake here.
Next day Monday 25 August we packed and headed south again,  discovered that the fuel sensor on our car was not working.
Back on the road heading to stop overnight at Musgrave.

Lots of crossings and corrugations before we arrived at Musgrave Road House,  here we met Peter and Deb again.  Next morning Neil and I headed for Cooktown.  We decided to take the four wheel drive track from Old Laura,  we lunched at Lake Emma.

Long and winding roads
A sign to our destination.
The shape of the termite mounds changed to round!
